wording and wording
blackening the blank page

inking over this bright but
overcast daydream

smile those eyes
reducing to a squint
a fine lash filter to distill
so much bewilderment

fluttering up
working its way out
xylem flow
connecting root

bone to heart
nerve to tongue

a blank page blackening
wording and wording

a thoughtless song
a daydreamed soundtrack
whispering wind through
late spring leaves grown just
enough to rustle
